Visit the "American" section of town that was built to rival the architectural splendor of the Creoles' French Quarter! Enjoy a walk through the New Orleans' elegant Garden District, known for its marvelous examples of Greek Revival and Italianate architecture. Homes of former Kings and Queens of Mardi Gras are located in this area ... once part of the plantation owned by Bienville, the founder of New Orleans.

View the residence of celebrated author Anne Rice, as well as the house where Jefferson Davis died in 1889; and Toby's Corner, the oldest house in the area (built in 1838). Visit Lafayette Cemetery, one of our Cities of the Dead, and learn about our unusual above-ground burial system.

A short stop for refreshments is included on our stroll through this beautiful section of New Orleans.

Gray Line New Orleans has a added high-tech wireless headsets to the Garden District Walking Tour. With the wireless tour system, you can hear every word spoken by the tour guide clearly and distinctly no matter how noisy the environment. The tour guide wears a belt pack transmitter and head-worn microphone that they turn on at the start of the tour. You will be issued your own small receiver with a lightweight "over the ear" speaker. Simply turn them on and adjust the volume to a comfortable level. The system is also a favorite for the hearing impaired as they can increase the volume level to meet their individual needs. It improves the quality of the tour because no one has to crowd to the front of the group or strain to hear what the tour guide is saying. You can be up to 150 feet away and still receive the same clear high fidelity audio transmission. Please note: the audio system will not be used during inclement weather.

Parking:

Paid Parking is available at The Departure Location.  The parking lot fee is approx $11.00 - $13.00 for up to 4 or more hours unless it is a special event. Please allow for extra time due to heavy pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the quarter at all times.

Handicapped Accessibility:

Tour vehicles are equipped for wheelchair storage. Please submit any special requests at least 48 hours in advance of your reservations.

Your credit card will be charged the total amount of products and services selected at the time of booking. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover Cards

Confirmation & Travel Voucher:

This tour must be booked at least 24hrs in advance of your travel date. Your confirmation for this product will be received within 12-24 hours subject to availability. You will receive a confirmation email with a link to your E-Ticket Voucher. Print this voucher on you home/office printer and present SIGNED voucher at departure location. Only one voucher will be created per tour or activity for all travelers.

Cancellation Policy: 

Cancellations within 24 hours of the tour are charged in full. Cancellations prior to 24 hours are charged a minimum $10.00 per person administration fee. We charge 100% for No Shows. If the tour is cancelled by the tour operator, the full ticket price will be refunded.

Supplier and Tourcorp assume no responsibility for delays caused by accidents, breakdown, weather, conditions of trails, roads, bays, oceans, rivers, airspace and any other conditions beyond control of Supplier, in addition to insufficient numbers of passengers.
