New Orleans' French Quarter Walking Tour

See the old Quarter come to life as your guide explains its secrets and helps you understand all it has to offer - architecture, courtyards, food, music, art and gardens. Learn about the Creoles on this tour through the original city, founded in 1718 by French explorer Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne, Sieur de Bienville.

Tour the oldest building in the Mississippi Valley, the Old Ursuline Convent, constructed by French Colonial Engineers under the auspices of the crown and completed in 1753. Over the centuries, this building has been a convent for the Ursuline Nuns, a school, an archbishop’s residence, the archdiocesan central office and a meeting place for the Louisiana legislature.

Included in this tour is St. Mary’s Church, completed in 1845, which has served as a center of worship for the French, Spanish, African Americans, German, Irish and Italian communities. Conclude your tour in the shady comfort of the newly renovated French Quarter Courtyard with its medicinal herb garden.

Important Note:

• This is a walking tour on uneven sidewalks and streets, so please wear comfortable shoes! During warmer months, we recommend that you wear lightly colored clothing; caps/hats and umbrellas are also suggested for rainy days.

Departure Location:

Gray Line Lighthouse Ticket Office behind Jax Brewery in the French Quarter at Toulouse Street and The Mississippi River - at the steamboat natchez dock. Just one block from Jackson Square in The French Quarter.

Parking:

Paid Parking is available at The Departure Location. The parking lot fee is approx $11.00 - $13.00 for up to 4 or more hours unless it is a special event. Please allow for extra time due to heavy pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the quarter at all times.

Handicapped Accessibility:

Tour vehicles are equipped for wheelchair storage. Please submit any special requests at least 48 hours in advance of your reservations.

Confirmation & Travel Voucher:

This tour must be booked at least 24hrs in advance of your travel date. Your confirmation for this product will be received within 12-24 hours subject to availability. You will receive a confirmation email with a link to your E-Ticket Voucher. Print this voucher on you home/office printer and present SIGNED voucher at departure location. Only one voucher will be created per tour or activity for all travelers.

Cancellation Policy: 

Cancellations within 24 hours of the tour are charged in full. Cancellations prior to 24 hours are charged a minimum $10.00 per person administration fee. We charge 100% for No Shows. If the tour is cancelled by the tour operator, the full ticket price will be refunded.
